In a vegetarian magazine I used to get, there was mention several years ago
of a vegetarian fast-food chain called McDharma's. There were about three to
six outlets connected with this chain and it was started in California (of
course, where else?). Unfortunately, McDonald's couldn't let well enough
alone and  sued them. The claim was that the word "McDharma" was too akin to
their own trade name. I don't know what the final disposition of the case was
or even if the budding chain exists anymore.
