Hi.
> Where in Russia do you live?
In Moscow.
> What TS branch do you belong to?
None. I avoid membering in any societies.
I was planning to join international TS (Adyar), but I've read here
that they expelled whole danish lodge because they were studying A. Bailey.
So there's no use to me in joining TS, if I could be expelled right next
day after joining for a same reason. :()
Russian Theosophical Society doesn't belong to International TS as I
mentioned before. Now I found original information:
[reverse translation]
"Dear friends! In a case if you aren't acknowledged yet, I would
clearly declare that International Th. Society still haven't any orga-
nization in Russia yet that belongs to it, but has only a small number
of "free members", i.e. individual members, direcly registered in
Adyar headquarters.
Although 3 years ago "Russian theosophical society" was founded
by Dmitry Popov & others who borrowed old rules of Russian section of
international T.S.(Adyar) which existed in 1908-1918, it was made with-
out any contact with our Society. We several times explained to this
group that a Russian section of T.S. must be created on a basis of
Rules of T.S., i.e. individual members, directly connected with Adyar,
- there could be no less than seven of them - can create a lodge, and
then no less than seven lodges can form a section. This process didn't
began yet.
So, so called "Russian theosophical society" doesn't belong to
International theosophical society.
Kurt Berg,
President of european federation of International theosophical
society, 29/I-1993."
I didn't join Russian T.S. only because of my personal incompatibility
with mr. Popov :) But if you want to contact with him, write to me
and I'll pass him your message. He doesn't have e-mail and will
answer you by post (write yr. address).
In this connection i put a question to all theosophists, especially
to those who are in close contact with Adyar headquarter. What is Adyar's
opinion about Agni-Yoga teaching? (There's Agni-yoga society in New
York which probably have translated this teaching into english).
It's popular in Russia, and most russian theosophists accept this teaching,
but i've heard that Adyar headquarter didn't accept it. Maybe there's
a same case as with Danish T.S., i.e. main cause is not in membership
order but in doctrinal difference.
