An Uneasy Truce

Although there has been no official guidelines for theos-l
there has come to be an unspoken one. We don't talk about
the psychic.
I've been avoiding addressing this subject -- the subject of
the delusions of the psychic -- and others have been avoiding
praising it as a sign of spiritual glory and advancement.
Occasionally a remark slips by, and people from the other
camp with jump in with their displeasure.
This does not mean that it is not a valid subject for
discussion, from either standpoint. It's just that there
seems to be so much emotion associated with the subject
that it needs to sometimes have a pause. The same is true
of theosophical history, or other things that people don't
want to hear about.
There may be a lot that has come to be this way on theos-l,
bringing it down to a lowest-common denominator of
mediocracy. I hope people can come to read things they
don't like with immediate outrage, but simply pick and
choose what they'll read and write about, like in the past.
