"But it might be added also that smoking is a dirty habit; it befouls
the bodies, and often causes much annoyance and discomfort to others.
The worst of its dirty selfishness physically is that the smoke is
made damp with saliva and then sent off to enter other people's
lungs. It is a horrible feature of modern life that we are often
compelled to contact and breathe smoke which has been so
treated."
