The annual meeting of the MidSouth Federation of the Theosophical
Society in America will meet this weekend outside Waynesville, NC at
the United Methodist's retreat center, Lake Junaluska.
The program will feature Nathan Greer, from the national
headquarters, speaking on psychological astrology and the spiritual
path on Saturday. Carol Ward of Charleston, SC will be sharing slides
from her recent visit to the international headquarters at Adyar,
India Sunday morning, and a video of Deepak Chopra, an M.D. whose
work is very popular now, will be shown Friday evening.
Members-at-large and guest are welcome to attend. The program starts
Friday evening, May 24th at the Terrance Inn (the main hotel on the
lake). Phone 1-800-222-4930 for room reservations, which are $46 per
night per person and includes meals. Other accommodations are
available at the nearby Stil-Light Theosophical Retreat Center. Call
(704)452-4569.
There will be opportunities to meet others interested in
theosophy. There are usually attendees coming from North Carolina,
South Carolina, Georgia, Virginia, Tennessee, Kentucky, and Alabama. This is a
small gathering normally 30-40 people and rooms were still available
yesterday when I checked with the hotel. So it's not to late! It is a
beautiful area in the Smokey Mountains of western Carolina located
just 40 minutes southwest of Ashville, NC.
