Actually, in the older theosophical works the Swastika was printed in both
directions. I cannot remember the name of the scholar who some years ago
attempted to find some proof that the difference really did matter but I'm
certain that someone on this board does. If I remember correctly, he
discovered that up until the Second World War, there was no distinction made,
which if true means that there has been a lot of justification going on.
Personally (and I write this not being Jewish so I do not have that
perspective) I see no more reason why the swastika should be blamed for the
Nazis than the Cross for the inquisition. Both were universal symbols before
they were stolen by a gang of thugs and my guess is with time the swastika
will be restored to its true value as the immediacy of the Nazis fades into
time.
