 The basic Teachings were given by Krishna, Buddha, Jesus, etc.
 Theosophy gives more. There was also much more to give than was done and
HPB passed on because of the failure of humanity, and the intelligentsia in
particular, to relate rightly to theosophy. Teaching from the Masters has
been given since and is just as basic, foundational and pure.

 The Founders of the Theosophical Society gave out the core teachings.
 That's why they founded the Society in the first place, to give out the
basic teachings.

 Actually anyone who writes for the Mahatmas is primary whether then or
now. The Teaching is a living ethic of right relationships
