It is generally acknowledged by all but the most dogmatic that HPB did use hashish on a pretty regular basis as a pain killer because she had kidney disease. There is no evidence to indicate that she used it for any other reason though that is possible. Chuck the Heretic (whose drug of choice is alcohol)
