Nurturing vs Compassion

Nurturing is a thing we do, while compassion is a thing
that we have within us.  If we have compassion, we naturally
tend to nurture.  But we can nurture with little or no
compassion (many teachers, for example).  Maybe the biggest 
difference is motive.
