The answer, of course, is that you did not write the book in
question.  It was just the work of a previous incarnation.  You
do not have currently, nor ever had, any connection to the book.
All you have is your immediate incarnation.  That which now flows
from a stranger's book and seeks you out is merely good and bad
karma.  You were not around when the book was written.  You exist
only in the absolute present.  There is no past in the absolute
present.  Therefore, the challenging woman does not exist now.
Good thing; she sounded like a bitch.  .  .  .
